This is my roommates creation, she is such a talented knitter and has been wanting to do this for a while. I actually didn’t see the creation until our university’s facebook page posted it online! Pretty dang exciting. All in all I must say it’s been a great Valentine’s Day. :)
Happy Valentines Day!
I tagged my first tree today, all in holiday spirit. I got up at 5:30am and felt really sketchy walking around campus with my little knitted doodads (and kind of lost sleep because I was so anxious/excited) but it was totally worth it. I wasn’t sure whether I’d get in trouble so I kept it mostly a secret but it ended up going on the UD Facebook page. Awesome, right? I only gave hints to my friends but maybe my identity will be revealed someday. We’ll see.
And it turns out if you look at the before (night) and after (day) pictures carefully, you’ll see that someone took one of the red hearts that was hanging on the chain. I’m glad someone appreciated it enough to steal one lol!
So in the morning (after I went back to bed from putting up my yarn bomb) I headed to my first class early and sat in front of the tree (where I took the daytime pics) and overheard people commenting on how cute it was (yay!) I’m glad that I was able to make people’s day this way because it was definitely my point. I really wanted to make a statement on Valentine’s Day that it’s not all about being in a relationship or single, but about the little special things that can make everyone’s day a little brighter!
So, now I can cross off yarn bomb off my knitting bucket list!
Ok, UD peeps that follow my personal Tumblr. Confession: this was me.

In today’s world conservatives have a bad name. They’re called the “Party of No” and “Idiots who refuse to move forward” or even just talked about as if they are racists, bringing back the days of segregation, hatred, and fear and with public faces such as Michelle Bachmann, Glenn Beck, and Sarah Palin it’s not hard to see why. But, don’t let those bigots and loud-mouths fool you, not all conservatives are this way.
There are level-headed conservatives who, while standing their ground, are willing to compromise and hear the other side out. There are conservatives who do research the issues and have logical reasons to support that stance. There are conservatives who believe that want to help this country progress in a direction that would be healthy without bringing it to the ground in the process. There are conservatives who are sick and tired of the everyday political crap that goes on.
Just like every other group in the world, there are multiple personalities and thoughts in the conservative group, and allowing three people to reflect badly on the entire group is just as bad as allowing gang-banging blacks to create the stereotype for African-Americans, or radical Muslims who fly into towers and create the tragedy for our generation to reflect on the entire population of that religion.
Next time you are about to say a blank statement about conservatives, think on how you came with that statement and whether or not it is really true. More likely than not, it only reflects upon the few rather than the many.
